Happy Birthday to Us!

Well, we have decided on our theme for our 100th post, but since this IS our 100th post, we will have an official, and an unofficial 100th post.  So, our theme will include photos from our Loyal Readers of things they have bought, or were given, or just saw, that need to be in our blog.  This means you HAVE to send in your photos!  If we don’t have enough photos, this becomes the official 100th post!  So whip out those white elephants and send us your snaps.  We will be sure and make some snarky comments, or feel free to send us your own.  We won’t use any last names to protect the innocent (or not so innocent, if you bought it yourself!).

To make sure this is not a non-photo post, we wanted to say Happy Birthday to our blog (even though it is well over a year old) and Happy Birthday to us.  Deb and I both have April birthdays, but one at the beginning, and one at the end of the month.  I just wanted to share the sorts of things that we give each other, that only the other one could understand and adore.

First up is our birthday bag.  I have lost count of how many years this has gone back and forth, but we each add something to it, and give it to the other.  I am so thankful that her birthday is after mine and she has to store it!

There are at least four different items in the pile-o-fruit alone!  Stickers, pins and things tied to the handles.  Some fall off and others take their place.  The ultimate in recycling?

This year in the birthday bag, I received what I like to call “Nearly Headless Kit”.  I love cats and Christmas pins, so this was a natural, right?

Looks pretty harmless, right?  Well, then you notice he moves.

The head falls over, and it looks like it is going all the way off.  Deb knew it would have a good home, and will get worn for Christmas, somewhere.  I have a huge collection of Christmas pins, and its hard to wear them all in one month.

When the bag came back to Deb, this was in it for her.

He is small and made of metal, and Deb loves little metal dogs. Again, looks harmless, right?

Well, turn him around:

A totally new use for BBs in sculpture!  Guess he would have just been incomplete without that little detail.

This has probably clued you in a bit more to just how off the wall we are, but hopefully, it didn’t come as a complete surprise.

Remember, get those photos to us, and we will gleefully write the “official” 100th post!
